Our History & Service
Boothsville Volunteer Fire Department The Boothsville Volunteer Fire Department has proudly served the communities of Fairmont, Marion County, and the surrounding areas since 1976. The department was organized that year, with its original charter establishing the foundation for what has grown into a dedicated and respected volunteer fire department.
Our beginnings were modest. The department initially operated from a dirt-floor garage with a single fire truck used for fire suppression. Through the dedication and commitment of our members and the support of the communities we serve, the department continued to grow.
In 1981, our first permanent fire station was constructed at 76 Dean Drive in Fairmont, West Virginia. This facility continues to serve as our main station today. As the department expanded its ability to serve the community, the Harmony Grove Substation was constructed near Harmony Grove on Beverly Pike in 1992.
Our Service Area
The Boothsville Volunteer Fire Department provides primary fire protection and emergency response throughout a large service area spanning portions of Marion and Taylor Counties.
Our first-due area includes:
-Route 73 (Middletown Road) — from just south of Industrial Park Road through Taylor County to the Harrison County line.
-Route 250 (Beverly Pike) — from the Marion/Taylor County line to the intersection of Route 50 in Grafton.
-Surrounding roads and communities within these areas.
Mutual Aid & Community Partnership
Emergency response does not stop at county or departmental boundaries. Boothsville Volunteer Fire Department maintains mutual aid agreements with surrounding fire departments and is committed to assisting our neighboring departments whenever our resources are requested.
Whether responding to a structure fire, vehicle accident, or other emergency, our members stand ready to answer the call and support the communities around us.
For nearly five decades, the Boothsville Volunteer Fire Department has been built on a tradition of service, dedication, and community. We are proud to serve our neighbors and remain committed to protecting the lives and property of the communities that have supported us throughout our history.
